The First Spaceship to land of the service of Venus crash lands way off course, off the coast of Rome. The survivor tells an incredible story of finding aliens dubbed the Ymir. He also said he brought back a Ymir. But it escaped in the crash.
Gentle unless provoted, but it's monster like appearence causes the short sited earthlings to provoke it. Also the atmospher has a strange effect on the Ymir as it starts to grow and grow and grow.
OPINION:
Cool monster effects, even though coming from Venus is implausable considering Venus is too hot to sustain life.
I Give It (6 STARS) 
ON THE POSTIVE SIDE: + EFFECTS (Ray Harryhausen is one of the best in creature effects)
+ YMIR (Cool monster design again thanks to the efforts of Ray Harryhausen)
+ STORY (The story and the acting work)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE: - BIGOTRY (I didn't like the way humans automatically attacked the Ymir just because it looked like a monster, I know if I encountered a beastie like that I would be surprised but I would not, NOT attack it unless it attacked me first)
- VENUS (There's no air on Venus, plus it's has surfuric ash and way too hot for life) |
